GEN×BORDER Cohort 2 Launches: Developing Leaders for Corporate Transformation in the Generative AI Era

9/19/26, 12:00 PM

On September 19, 2026, Cohort 2 of GEN×BORDER, organized by the Kyushu-Taiwan Future Institute, officially began.

Cohort 2 is a practical program of about six months that aims to develop next-generation leaders who can drive corporate transformation in the generative AI era.

The opening session welcomed Eihiro Saishu and Takashi Yanase. Drawing on the changes brought by advances in AI and on real experience in management and organizational transformation, the session explored the perspectives that tomorrow's leaders will need. Participants connected these ideas to challenges in their own workplaces and businesses, and shared the questions that will guide their learning.

Alongside lectures and dialogue, the program includes project-based learning on real corporate challenges, fieldwork in Taiwan, and an intensive training session at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU). Through these, participants sharpen their ability to identify issues and to turn decisions into action.

At the heart of the program is a cycle: trying out what is learned in daily work, then reflecting on that experience through dialogue with peers. As a learning community of participants, lecturers, mentors, and partner companies and universities, we support each person's challenge.

Toward the final presentations in February 2027, we will continue to advance co-creation across Japan and Taiwan, generations, and fields of expertise.
