[Why Japan Heart and KTVI are co-hosting (background)]

The Kyushu-Taiwan Future Institute (KTVI) has so far promoted practical Japan–Taiwan collaboration mainly in education, talent development, and community building.
However, both Kyushu and Taiwan face deepening, interconnected social challenges such as declining birthrates and aging populations, disparities in regional healthcare, and uneven distribution of talent.

In light of this, KTVI has decided to position "healthcare (life)" as a new core theme of Japan–Taiwan collaboration and a key focus area going forward.

Japan Heart's philosophy and practice of "bringing medical care to places it does not reach" across Asia align closely with this new direction for KTVI,
and this online lecture is being held as KTVI's first step into Japan–Taiwan collaboration in the field of healthcare.

Ahead of the special panel discussion in January, it will be an important first step for companies, educational institutions, governments, and citizens in Kyushu and Taiwan to share perspectives on healthcare, education, and talent, and to consider future collaboration.
