Message from the Representative Director
We have officially established the Kyushu-Taiwan Future Institute, a general incorporated association. We aim to become a foundation for connecting the potential and future prospects of two regions, Kyushu and Taiwan, and for co-creating new value.
At a time when Kyushu's industrial structure is being transformed, symbolized by TSMC's arrival, and Taiwan is accelerating investment in education, DX, and talent, we are now called upon to pursue strategic co-creation with Asia that makes the most of our "geographic proximity" and our "ability to collaborate and execute."
Embracing these changes, the Institute will serve as a hub for implementing a co-learning partnership model that connects industry, education, and local communities. Going beyond simple talent development or industrial support, we aim to create a "co-learning ecosystem" starting from Kyushu and Taiwan: a new form of co-creation in which multiple fields, cultures, and generations work together to circulate knowledge and put it into practice in society.
Our vision is "Move Japan Forward from Kyushu — Becoming the starting point for new transformation through Kyushu–Taiwan collaboration." Under this vision, we will share with the world the social model that emerges as Taiwan and Kyushu learn from and nurture each other. To realize this, through developing young leaders in Japan and Taiwan, supporting cross-border PBL and international joint research, and building a platform for collaborative practice among universities, companies, and governments, we hope to show the world a model of circular talent development and social problem solving that transcends regions.
We will take on the challenge of building an axis of cooperation called "co-learning" between fields of expertise, between regions, and between generations, opening up the possibilities of the future together. We sincerely hope to nurture this initiative together with the people of our region, the people of Taiwan, and committed partners around the world. We humbly ask for your understanding and participation.
Kyushu-Taiwan Future Institute
